The Adient Ethics Policy and Helpline
The Adient Ethics Policy outlines our ethical expectations and Code of Conduct for our employees, contractors, and our suppliers.
Integrity Helpline allows individuals to raise questions and offer information about possible Ethics Policy violations. Our confidential Helpline is available to anyone 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for reporting online or via telephone.
Supply chain risk management
With our size, scale and global reach, our business can help yours grow. But before we enter into any partnership, we need to know that your company is reliable and financially stable – with a solid reputation. All suppliers are required to keep their financial information current through our online financial assessment, Third Party Intelligence (3PI), which is our global standardized tool to collect financial data on our suppliers. This online assessment is mandatory for all production and service parts suppliers and must be updated quarterly.

Adient maintains a zero-tolerance position against forced labor, including slavery and human trafficking. We will continue our responsible sourcing journey and proactively look for ways to make a positive difference in our operations and supply chain.

Conflict minerals
In 2010, Congress passed the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, which directs the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to issue rules requiring certain companies to disclose their use of conflict minerals if those minerals are “necessary to the functionality or production of a product” manufactured by those companies. Under the Act, those minerals include tantalum, tin, gold or tungsten.

International Materials Data System (IMDS)
The IMDS (International Material Data System) is an internet-based database established by automotive OEMs to track and record chemical ingredients of parts and assemblies across the entire automotive supply chain. IMDS is the global standard to collect, maintain, analyze and archive all materials used for automobile manufacturing. All Adient suppliers that provide direct material production parts and/or assemblies are expected to comply with IMDS requirements.
IMDS submissions must include all materials present in the finished product. All basic substances must be reported. Process chemicals, byproducts of reaction and contaminants listed in the GADSL as D or D/P must be reported as soon as the concentration in the end product exceeds the defined threshold.
